Putting the Bite Back in the Fight

Putting the Bite Back in the Fight

Policies

1) Arrive Early. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointment. New clients are recommended to arrive 10-15 minutes early, as they need to complete intake form information to ensure that all current and prior health matters are addressed accordingly. This provides enough time to do a thorough consultation prior to session and ensures your full session time allotment.

2) Cancellations/Reschedule. Please provide 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows your therapist to fill your time slot with another client who may be waiting to receive a treatment. Failure to notify your therapist of a cancellation or a need to reschedule may lead to non-acceptance of future appointment requests. To reschedule, please provide 24-hours’ notice, or a cancellation fee may apply.

However, if you have to cancel with less than 24 hours notice, we may not be able to fill your appointment time with another client. If we are unable to find a replacement, understand that you will be charged for the entire session fee. We have this policy in place because our practitioners work very hard, and your scheduled session is part of their livelihood. Like your regular doctor, dentist or other medical professional, we are also health care practitioners. Please make sure you follow our cancellation policies so that 1) we can maintain a great professional working relationship with you and 2) so that our practitioners are given the respect they deserve.

3) Communication. If you are ever uncomfortable regarding temperature, draping, pressure or anything else, it is your duty to inform your therapist so that the technique or the environment can be adjusted accordingly. Your therapist may periodically “check in” with you, but prefers to allow you to relax in silence without talking.

4) Follow-Up/Treatment Plan. Following your appointment, your therapist may recommend follow-up appointments and/or a treatment plan. As a health professional, your therapist may recommend these things to benefit you and to help you live a better, healthier life. Please follow these recommendations as much as possible and drink plenty of water following your service!

5) Cell phone free zone. Before entering the massage treatment room, please turn off your cell phones. Personal calls should be made outside where others are out of earshot. Keep in mind that there are others receiving a massage, facial or spa treatment, and are there to relax. This allows you to completely relax and unwind, and allows the therapist to focus on your needs. Distractions like a vibrating or ringing cell phone disrupt the flow of the massage.

6) Massage therapy is taxable in the State of Minnesota. There are no exceptions to paying sales tax unless your insurance company is being directly billed for your treatments.

7) Disclosures/Client Information. All clients are required to fill out a health intake questionnaire form as well as acknowledge their bill of rights, issued by the State of Minnesota. This information must be kept on file to maintain licensing, records and insurance – no exceptions! Client information is always kept confidential in accordance with HIPAA. Client lists and information is never sold or exchanged without prior authorization.

8) Series and Gift Certificates. There are no refunds or exchanges on series or gift certificates once purchased. Series are for the purchaser only, and are not transferable to other clients, family members or accounts. Gift certificates, by law, do not have an expiration date. Series do expire, typically so many days after you first use a session. Please check the days of expiration on a series to make sure it is a good fit for you prior to purchasing.

9) Minor Clients. Children between 1 and 17 years of age may receive services but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian must sign a minor consent form to receive treatment.

10) Attire. This is your special treatment, and we want you to feel totally at ease. It is customary for guests to completely disrobe for their facial or massage services, although undergarments may be worn if preferred.

11) Valuables. Mastiff Fitness LLC is not responsible for lost, damaged, or missing items.

12) Gratuity. In appreciation for service, gratuities may be given at your discretion. A customary 15-20% gratuity is suggested.

13) Pregnancy. Although you’ll want to avoid treatments using deep pressure, heat, and certain oils, massage is a great de-stressor for the mom-to-be. Pregnancy Massage utilizes a body contour cushion system for your comfort. If you are pregnant, your appointment must be classified as a pregnancy massage. Hot stone massage is a contraindication for pregnancy.

14) Payment. Cash, local checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express accepted. Vouchers, and other coupons or gift certificates are not valid on New Client 1st Massage services.

15) Reservations. Reservations are preferable, though not always necessary. Weekends tend to fill up faster, so planning a couple of weeks in advance will help you receive your desired appointment time. We also recommend that you book your next service before leaving.

16) Loyalty Points. Loyalty Points may be redeemed on regularly-priced services only for the individual who accrued the loyalty points. Loyalty Points are not transferable – enjoy the points YOU’VE earned! 25 points=$1.00 in services. For example, if you have 1000 loyalty points, you have earned $40 in free services – you could get a 1/2 hour massage or a Migraine Miracle stone therapy treatment! Loyalty Points are not valid for tips or gratuities, gift certificates, sales tax, product, discounted services, and may not be used in combination with other specials or offers. For more information, see our Loyalty Points page.
